Pixar and Disney have proven once again that not a lot of words are needed to create a story that is full of humour and charm. The humans who brought us "Finding Nemo" teamed up for their latest masterpiece "Wall-E".
For the first half hour nothing is said, and yet this movie is everything but dull. Wall-E can easily be regarded as the greatest love-story of the year – and the leading characters don’t even kiss.
When mankind left Earth polluted and full of rubbish centuries ago in favour of living on a space ship, they left Wall-E behind to clean up. The most adorable robot since „Number 5” is the last of his kind and has been doing what he was build to do on Earth for the last 700 years. His name stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class and in all these years he developed just one little fault: a personality. He is very curious and finds all kinds of trinkets among the rubbish. But this cute robot is also very lonely, with his only companion being a pet cockroach.
One day, the sleek and beautiful robot EVE arrives on Earth to look for signs of life.
Although the two could not be more different, rusty Wall-E is immediately smitten and tries everything to impress her. In an attempt to save EVE and not lose contact after all those years alone, Wall-E leaves behind everything he knows to follow her into space.
The DVD comes equipped with hours of bonus material for children and adults alike. Deleted scenes and more hilarious Wall-E moments are featured next to short movies, an interactive storybook and extensive behind-the-scenes material from Pixar.
Verdict: You can’t help but adore the robotic hero of this must-see movie! This film will keep you laughing for hours! Rated: UG
